It's common to feel down from time to time, but it's less common
to suffer feelings of despair and emptiness that won't go away,
even if you change your circumstances. Depression is more than
just a case of the blues. It's a low feeling that makes it hard
to enjoy life or even to function on a day to day basis. When
friends and hobbies are no longer interesting, you feel exhausted
on a regular basis, and it's hard to get through your day, you
may be suffering from the signs of depression. Let's take a
closer look at them today.

Learning about the signs of depression and what you can do about
them is the first step to overcoming your problem.

Find out how you can eliminate your depression permanently just
like I did:

Depression may make you feel extremely sad [[firstname]], or just
listless and numb. It takes over your life, makes it hard to have
fun, sleep, eat, study, or do just about anything. Intense,
unrelenting feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness and other
negative emotions are extremely common. These are just some of
the signs of depression.

When you're depressed, your sleep will be disrupted. Some people
can't sleep, while others sleep all the time. Easy tasks become
hard and concentration becomes more difficult. You may feel
helpless or without hope, and unable to control your negative
thoughts. Food is affected by depression, as well. Some people
lose their appetites, while others distract themselves with food
or feel hungry frequently. Irritability and short temperedness
are common, and you may think your life's not worth living. You
could feel either keyed up and agitated or sluggish and listless.

Depression is a major risk for suicide, but just because you're
depressed doesn't mean that you are suicidal. The two things are
connected, but not the same condition. If you've experienced
suicidal thoughts or impulses, it's important to get help of some
kind, but it can be extremely hard. Make sure that people take
you seriously, even though it's difficult to talk about openly.
Remember that seeking treatment doesn't mean you're weak, and it
doesn't mean you have to be medicated or institutionalized. There
are lots of ways to help get over the symptoms of depression that
don't require drugs.

The solution I recommend, Depression Free Method offers more
information on all the symptoms associated. Many doctors won't
hesitate to put you under ineffective drugs that make you feel
dazed most of the time. These drugs work temporarily but rarely
provides a permanent solution.

Instead of waiting for your doctor to put together a puzzle that
is rarely solved, there are many ways you can grab the bull by
the horns and learn about this mental condition yourself. By
trying some of the suggestions in the Depression Free Method, you
can heal yourself fast and permanently!

Positive thinking Tip #10 - Success is nearer than you think...

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." Thomas A. Edison

Sometimes I feel so down and depression comes knocking at my door. Do you have the same problem? Of course you do!

We all suffer from negative thoughts and depression can affect you when you turn your thoughts inward and downward.

At those times you should choose to remind myself of a great truth:

"You are not a failure"

You just haven't succeeded 100% yet.

But hang on a second...maybe you have succeeded 20% or 30 or 40%

Remember also, anything worthwhile is not done in one step but in many small steps.
You cannot give up after these small steps or you'll not take the next one...

Keep going even when you feel like giving up because you are nearer success than you think :)

In most cases success means just a small change - it IS within reach but if you listen to your negative self talk, that dark voice inside you, it will tell you success is impossible.

So my tip for you today is...

Understand that success is closer than you think and that in most cases a small change of attitude is all you need to take action to correct your progress towards your goals and dreams.

Silence the dark voice of despair and negativity inside you and answer it, tell it that you won't listen, you'll SUCCEED!

An amazing tip you can use every morning..

I hope that this week finds you feeling hopeful. I'd like to offer a quick tip here that will help you find more motivation and happiness and make you stronger. So let's get to it...

Do you ever wake up and find yourself down even before you've got up?

Before your day has started you already feel depressed?

If that's true then I have a solution..

I sometimes find my mind working against me in that period before I wake up properly. Negative thoughts beginning to creep up on me and fear and anger are also there not far behind. have you experienced that?

If I get up all gloomy, dreading the day ahead I know that I have a problem even before the day has kicked in.

You cannot face the new day like that. A new day should be exciting and full of possibilities...

Depression is like a seperate character inside you, a real enemy because he talks to you and tells you negative things. In your subconscious and in your drowsy morning state this little monster can be very powerful.

What do I do before I get up so that I am happy and feeling ready for the day? ı have a tip I'd like to offer you next time you feel bad in the early hours.

Calm your breathing and then put your thoughts onto something you love, something that made you happy even if for just a short time. Relax. Now start to think of all the GOOD things in your life. There are lots if you think. Even if your life seems horrible or if depression grips you, you can do this...

Count the things you have already which are good, the people, the places everything. The things that you saw or heard or enjoyed recently. There is a beautiful world out there - what do you find beautiful? Think of that.

Gratitude, being thankful is an awesome thing. It will change your attitude instantly. Spend 10 or 20 minutes doing this before you get up and your mood will be positive.

Let me know if this tip helps you and if you try it...I'd love to hear your thoughts...

Before you go, can I recommend something that I have tried and really believe will help you?

It killed my depression stone dead (though it requires some time to complete). It's a superb program that I've taken and it worked wonders for me!

Conquer depression and anxiety quickly and naturally:

The doubts of Today..

I've often said that great quotes can inspire you to make positive changes in your life. Here's a wonderful quote I read today:

"The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be the doubts of today"

- Franklin J. Roosevelt

Isn't that so true? I'd like to ask you a question:

How can you create something good in your life if you are filled with doubts?

It's impossible. So if you want to bring more good things into your life before you do anything else - remove the doubts. Start believing and it will happen.

Doubts are negative thoughts and they bring more negative thoughts. When you focus on reasons for failure you will cause failure. Positive thoughts help you to create a better future but how can you remove your doubts?

This is where you may get stuck. You realize the problem but don't know how to solve it. In the next few days I'll post again with steps you can take to remove your doubts and start believing in the power you have to succeed.

Make sure you revisit this blog for more...

Look forward to 2009

Just like you I sometimes find it very difficult to be positive. The end of the year is a time when people look back over the last 12 months. The only point to looking back is to draw lessons and use them to improve your present.

For many people at this time of year, looking back means disappointment and the sense that time is passing and you still haven't achieved what you intended to. This negative mindset is responsible for so much depression at this time of year. Once again I have been reminded in my own life of the value of positive thinking...

I have just returned from a five day trip to the mountains where I started learning to snowboard. The first few days I felt tired and started to ache everywhere. My progress was very slow and I felt like giving up. I continued to read the secret which is a book I took with me on my holiday. The next time I went out I replaced my negative thinking with positive thinking and everything changed! I told myself that I was still young, that my muscles were strong and that I can do this. That day I managed to get the hang of snowboarding. The following day I told myself that I was going to be a huge success with my efforts to master this sport and that's exactly what happened. The tiredness left me and instead I was filled with energy and easily skated down the piste.

What I wish for you in 2009 is that you can find success through positive thinking. Please read some of the articles that I have written about how to stop thinking negatively:

Stop thinking the worst

The law of attraction

Negative thoughts are very very powerful and most of thoughts we have during the day happen automatically and subconsciously. It is therefore very difficult to change these to positive thoughts. What I suggest is to be aware of when you are having negative thoughts and don't stress out, either correct this to a positive or add two positive thoughts in order to cancel out the negative thought.

I wish you a prosperous, successful and happy new year!
